OUR PROJECT

Our educational project was created to offer families living in Córdoba the option of choosing an academically rigorous, accredited alternative school programme that supports healthy cognitive, social, and emotional development.

What makes us different?

  • IMMERSIVE LEARNING: WE INSPIRE OUR STUDENTS

Our students love to learn, and their education is active, interesting, and joyful. They enjoy work cycles of 3 uninterrupted hours a day in the infant stage and 3 + 2 hours a day in the primary stage.

  • CULTIVATING CONFIDENCE AND CREATIVITY: A PERSONALISED EDUCATION

We nurture children’s confidence, critical thinking, and creativity. Using a methodology supported by neuroscience, we guide them in developing their knowledge, skills, abilities, and executive functions. Our students grow up with a solid understanding of who they are, including their strengths and areas for growth.

  • FAMILY-SCHOOL COLLABORATION: REACHING FOR CHILDREN’S FULL POTENTIAL

We know that children can reach their full potential in their school and home environments with a close family-school relationship. Our classrooms are patient, humane, and motivating places where children feel safe to develop themselves. There are many ways to participate in your child’s life at school.

  • REAL BILINGUALISM THROUGH LINGUISTIC IMMERSION IN ENGLISH WITH SPANISH AS THE COMMUNITY LANGUAGE

We are experts in effective bilingual education. Immersion in the infant stage, along with 70%- 80% of instruction in English and the rest in Spanish in primary school, nourishes students with confidence, practice, and a desire to communicate in English and Spanish. • MONTESSORI METHOD: DEVELOPING SKILLS FOR A LIFETIME

Faithful application of the Montessori method develops skills that facilitate lifelong academic learning. Autonomy and self-discipline, the ability to face challenges and seek creative solutions to problems, and a comprehensive vision of the world and knowledge prepare our students for the challenges of an unknown future.

WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER MONTESSORI CÓRDOBA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FOR YOUR FAMILY?

A Montessori environment is the combination of the physical space, the social and emotional environment, and the culture established in each classroom. Adults in the school are responsible for creating, maintaining, and caring for this environment to meet the children’s comprehensive needs; nothing is missing, and nothing is surplus. The environments are beautiful and feel close to nature to provide the well-being which is essential for learning. Soft, neutral colours and natural materials ensure that children’s attention is focused on the materials and their work.

When your son or daughter goes to school with children of different ages in the classroom, they have the opportunity to learn so much from their older peers:

  • About study habits and sustained concentration.
  • Of the breadth of responses to intellectual challenges.
  • Of extended work in abstraction.
  • From the range of options for creative expression.
  • Conflict resolution tools and respectful limits.
  • Social skills such as active listening and respectful debate.
  • From their extended vocabulary in both languages.
  • The habit and love of reading.
  • Confidence in the face of challenges.
  • Camaraderie and solidarity.

The older children are role models. They learn to be sensitive to others’ needs, practice leadership and teamwork skills, consider everyone’s perspectives and moments of development, care for the environment, guide other learners, teach others, and make concessions on projects and plans according to the participants’ profiles.

Montessori Córdoba is a holistic or integral education centre. This means that we believe that all aspects of human development, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and organic, should be prepared for at school. We prepare the learning environments at school with the knowledge that healthy development will only occur if we create an environment and program sensitive to all development areas.

A large team of professionals is working at Montessori Córdoba to ensure that our students’ education and learning environment are the best they can be. Our community of 150 children max. do not lack attention for each child and to each detail of our programme. Here, you can view the team members along with their qualifications and motivations.
Neuroscience shows us that to learn and create new neural connections in the brain, we must get excited and apply learning to real and meaningful activities. The exercise of merely memorising data is stored in the brain in a more superficial way. The learning activities our students participate in directly impact the development of their prefrontal cortex and executive functions. Neuroscience also demonstrates that transformative learning happens when people work collaboratively as children do in our learning communities.

At Montessori Córdoba International School, we choose the Montessori methodology precisely because it combines all the aspects demonstrated by science and the most respected pedagogical research as necessary for the optimal development of human intelligence, skills and well being.

Financing And Support Of The European Erasmus + Program

The Education for Life Group and its collaborating organisations work beyond the doors of our school to ensure that the quality education that the children of Montessori Córdoba receive can be offered in more European educational institutions. The Bilingual Montessori Project has two pillars: First, that a transformative and relevant education must be based on sound pedagogical knowledge and investigation and neuroscientific evidence, and second, the belief that bilingualism is not only the ability to communicate in two languages: Multilingualism provides a breadth of vision and a tool for understanding and cooperation that no translation machine does.

For these reasons, the Bilingual Montessori team, thanks to the essential financial support of the European Union via Erasmus+, strives to study, research, disseminate, and share the best educational practices to reach more children around the world.

Please find out more at bilingualmontessori.com. You will find many resources to learn more about the process of acquiring a second language in children, and you will understand why the Montessori Córdoba bilingual method is the best you can offer your child.
